The team/project:

The Mass Market Product Team develops the services Swiss households love most: Swisscom blue TV, Swisscom myCloud, Swisscom Email, Swisscom myAI and all internet products (routers, WiFi Boxes etc.). We are a motivated group that strives for the best user experience with the right technology while keeping costs in check.

This role is part of the Client SW subgroup within MMP. The subgroup delivers all frontends for our services: TV Box, Smart TV Apps, iOS/Android Apps, Web Apps and more.

As a Frontend Developer for Smart TV you will:

  • Design, build, test, improve and maintain the Swisscom blue TV smart TV App, a React based web application running on Samsung, LG, Philips smart TVs and Android WebView based TV Boxes.

  • Develop and optimize UI heavy frontends within a large scale NX monorepo using React, TypeScript and Redux

  • Collaborate closely with designers, product managers, backend engineers and streaming specialists in a cross functional team

  • Test your deliveries and ensure performance, reliability and visual quality on constrained smart TV platforms are living-room grade.

  • Contribute to technical architecture, state management patterns, testing strategies and engineering best practices

  • Continuously improve scalability, maintainability and KPI monitoring of the application

  • Participate in code reviews, CI/CD pipeline maintenance (GitLab CI) and agile ceremonies

  • Help shape the future of Swisscom’s client software portfolio, with willingness to contribute to other projects and tech stack

Job requirements

Must have:

• 3+ years of experience with UI heavy web Aps where design, performance and reliability matters

• Strong frontend engineering background with React, TypeScript and Redux in a large-scale NX monorepo.

• Expertise in state management: async thunks, entity adapters, memoized selectors, and effect-based side effects

• Performance optimization for constrained environments: code splitting, virtualization, lazy loading, and bundle analysis

• Good knowledge of testing and KPI monitoring strategies

• Ownership mindset and pragmatic problem by thinking beyond the boundaries of a ticket

• Experience with UI heavy applications where design matters

• Experience with CI/CD pipelines (GitLab CI) and modern DevOps practices

• Willingness to work as well on other projects with other frameworks and programming languages

• Good and professional communication skills in English in a cross functional environment and stakeholders from designers over product manager, backend engineers and streaming specialists

Nice to have:

• Experience with Jest unit tests, Cypress E2E, Storybook for component-driven development SmartTV/OTT platform development (Samsung Tizen, LG webOS, Android TV)

• Video streaming integration: Adaptive DASH video players (e.g. Bitmovin, Exoplayer)

• Hands-on experience with AI-supported development workflows

• Advanced build tooling: Vite, custom plugins, legacy browser targeting, SWC transpilation
