The team/project:

The Mass Market Product Team develops the services Swiss households love most: Swisscom blue TV, Swisscom myCloud, Swisscom Email, Swisscom myAI and all internet products (routers, WiFi Boxes etc.). We are a motivated group that strives for the best user experience with the right technology while keeping costs in check.

This role is part of the Client SW subgroup within MMP. The subgroup delivers all frontends for our services: TV Box, Smart TV Apps, iOS/Android Apps, Web Apps and more.

What You’ll do

  • Build the app end to end: Design, build, test, improve and maintain the Swisscom myCloud Android mobile app and the myCloud App running on TV.

  • Craft the interface: Develop and optimize UI heavy frontends that bring live TV, replay and streaming together

  • Work across disciplines: Collaborate closely with designers, product managers, backend engineers and streaming specialists in a cross functional team

  • Test what you ship: Write and run tests for your own deliveries, and ensure performance, reliability and visual quality across a diverse device ecosystem

  • Shape the architecture: Contribute to technical architecture, state management patterns, testing strategies and engineering best practices

  • Keep it scalable: Continuously improve scalability, maintainability and KPI monitoring of the application

  • Strengthen the process: Take part in code reviews, CI/CD pipeline maintenance (GitLab CI) and agile ceremonies

  • Look ahead: Help shape the future of Swisscom’s client software portfolio, ready to contribute to other projects and tech stacks

Job requirements

Android Development

  • Strong Kotlin skills with Jetpack Compose and Views interoperability

  • Kotlin Coroutines and Flow

  • WorkManager and background processing

  • Memory management, threading, and performance optimization

  • Production apps shipped through Google Play

Architecture

  • MVVM and modern Android architecture patterns (Clean Architecture)

  • Dependency injection (Hilt/Dagger)

  • Modular, scalable, and testable application design

  • Offline-first and synchronization architectures

  • Reusable, scalable component design

Platform Knowledge

  • Background tasks, foreground services, push notifications

  • Android Media APIs and media handling

  • Storage Access Framework and file management

  • Room Database and local data persistence

  • Networking, REST APIs, authentication & security

  • App lifecycle, deep links & App Links

  • Authentication and security concepts

  • Runtime permissions and privacy requirements

  • Multi-form-factor builds targeting mobile, Android TV, and Tablets

Quality & Operations

  • Excellent Testing skills (strategy and doing) from Unit over UI to E2E testing and in-field crash monitoring

  • CI/CD, feature flags, remote config

  • Analytics implementation & validation

  • Performance profiling and ANR analysis

  • Google Play release management

Soft Skills

  • Good and professional communication skills in English combined with experience in a cross functional environment consisting of stakeholders from designers over product manager, backend engineers to streaming specialists.

  • Willingness to work as well on other projects with other tech stacks and programming languages
