The role&project:

You will be a part of the agile product team that is end-to-end responsible for more than 2.0 million Internet-Box and WLAN-Box networking devices. By leveraging the latest technologies and maintaining a strong focus on quality, the team delivers best-in-class devices and features to Swisscom end customers.

The team consists of 14 highly motivated product managers, engineers, automation engineers, as well as hardware and operations experts. Join our team and delight our customers with an outstanding customer experience and highly reliable devices.

As a Router and WLAN Testing Engineer you will:

  • Perform regularly manual testing (sanity, new feature, bugfix and regression) of new home router firmware releases

  • Do analysis and reproduce complex issues reported by customers in the lab, debug it with the support of the supplier and validate its solution

  • Provide third level support for analysis of reported router related issues

  • Further develop and document test cases for manual and automated tests based on the features roadmap

  • Maintain test labor with CPEs and clients

  • Close collaboration with product management, support organization and engineering

Job requirements

  • 2+ year’s experience in software testing and quality assurance

  • Experience with embedded networking devices like routers and its domains ( WAN, LAN, WLAN, IPTV, VOIP)

  • Experience with IP networking protocols and know-how in Linux based systems

  • Experience in programming/scripting with Python

Nice to have:

  • Technical degree (UAS, UNI) in IT, electrical engineering with software development experience or equivalent qualification.

  • Knowhow of networking debugging tools like Wireshark

  • Experience with CI/CD tools like GitLab and Testing Framework like RobotFramework

Soft skills:

  • Proactive, open and communicative personality who actively seeks innovation and improvement

  • Motivated to work in a high performing agile team

  • Team-oriented, precise, and independent manner of working

  • Very good English (spoken & written), German is a plus.
