The Product / Team:

You will be a part of a newly formed hybrid DevOps team based out of Riga, which would be an extension of the Swiss based Agile Release Train. The team will be responsible for monitoring & logging services and furthermore perform operational tasks including nightly on-call duties. Our ART is responsible for creating and running Swisscom's IaaS service for large & medium enterprises. Collaboration is central to our work, as we develop and implement ideas modularly across teams.

We are seeking skilled DevOps Engineers with expertise in modern monitoring & logging solutions for our Swisscom Cloud Infrastructure, to join our dynamic team.

As DevOps Engineer you will:

  • implement, maintain & support our architects to expand & improve our monitoring & logging stack while focusing on automating processes, improving scalability, and ensuring reliable performance

  • be collaborating with development and operations teams to enhance monitoring, alerting, and troubleshooting capabilities, driving continuous improvement across the cloud platform and systems.

Job requirements

What we expect:

  • Monitoring & Logging: Expertise with monitoring and logging tools with an interest in building sustainable & reliable monitoring & logging solutions. Experience with monitoring components using VMware Aria Suite in combination with Grafana and Prometheus

  • VMware Cloud Infrastructure Expertise: Experience in managing and supporting VMware based network and infrastructure

  • Scripting and Automation: Experience with scripting and programming languages (e.g. Python, Powershell). Working in areas of automation including infrastructure as code, configuration management with Ansible/Python.

  • Good spoken English skills

  • Knowledge of DevOps best practices for monitoring & logging

  • Familiarity with Scaled Agile Framework

  • Problem solving mindset and able to perform in a team

  • Proactivity with self-initiative
