We're expanding our footprint in Riga and actively seeking 50+ DevOps Engineers to join our growing teams within this year.

The Product / Team:

We at IT-clouds Team AURA are the driving force behind Swisscom IT-clouds, responsible for abstracting and presenting cloud services through the Cloud Portal (frontend), API layer, billing integration, and event exposure in a unified, multi-tenant, and consistent manner. Our mission is to shield end customers from the complexities of underlying vendors, ensuring a seamless Swisscom experience across all cloud services.

To achieve this, we design and develop broker services (based on the open service broker specification) and other microservices, working closely with various service teams.

 

As an DevOps Engineer, your responsibilities will include:

  • Leveraging your expertise in Java, SpringBoot, and microservices architecture to develop and deliver service brokers for our cloud management environment.

  • Collaborating with backend, frontend, and billing teams to integrate services and work seamlessly across team boundaries.

  • Deploying and managing your software using our CI/CD pipeline, while optimizing and extending these pipelines.

  • Enhancing and debugging implementations, as well as handling customer incidents (third-level support).

  • Working within an international, geographically distributed team with cultural diversity, interacting with fellow DevOps engineers, product owners, and business engineers.

  • Ensuring that requirements are implemented sustainably and entrepreneurially, adhering to best practices.

  • Enjoying a collaborative work environment within our multidisciplinary DevOps team operating in a SAFe context.

Job requirements

What we expect:

  • Proven experience as a DevOps Engineer, ideally with deep hands-on development skills in Java, Spring Boot and Micro Services

  • Strong knowledge of CI/CD, Git, GitLab pipelines, monitoring, alerting and test automation

  • Willingness to operate and continuously improve large-scale, business-critical platforms

  • A self-driven and pragmatic mindset, with the ability to navigate and assess complex situations independently

  • Resilience under pressure — when things go sideways, you keep your cool and get things done

  • Experience with relational, non-relational databases and Kafka (or other message brokers)

  • Fluency in English

  • Team player who is eager to learn and open to share knowledge

Nice to have:

  • Familiarity with Infrastructure Virtualization and IaaS

  • Familiarity with VMware vCloud Director

  • Experience with Open Service Broker APIs

  • Automation know-how using Ansible

  • Know-how in IT service management and operation (third level support)

  • Flexibility, understanding of agile and lean principles

  • Willingness to be on-call (rotation for 24/7 operations)
